Dosage guidelines
There is no single "correct" amount of kratom — it varies from person to person, and it isn't something we can prescribe. This page is general, educational information only, not medical or dosing advice. The guiding principle most experienced users follow is simple: start low and go slow.
Start low, go slow
If you're new, begin with a small amount and give yourself time before considering any adjustment. You can always have a little more next time; you can't undo taking too much at once. Finding what works for you is a gradual process, not a race.
Why it varies so much
How a given amount feels can depend on many personal factors, including:
- Body weight and individual metabolism
- Whether your stomach is full or empty
- The strain, vein, and format (powder, capsule, or extract)
- Your own tolerance and prior experience
Because of this, what suits one person may be too much or too little for another.
Measure for consistency
A small digital scale is the easiest way to keep your servings consistent from one time to the next, especially with loose powder. Capsules, gummies, and shots are already pre-measured, which some people prefer for that reason.
Sensible habits
- Don't combine kratom with alcohol, medications, or other substances.
- Stay hydrated.
- Give yourself plenty of time between servings rather than redosing quickly.
- Not for use if you are pregnant, nursing, or under 21.
- If you have any medical condition or take medication, speak with a healthcare professional before use.
